The card’s totally interactive, with an adorable, movable character. I absolutely adore how it turned out! What’s great is you can pair it with another Father’s Day DIY (psst: have you seen my SVG file to make these adorable t-shirts?), for a totally original gift.
How do you plan on celebrating Father’s Day this year?
Directions:
Print sheets 2-3 on cardstock.
Begin by folding the outer card print-out in half. You’ll want to make sure that the animal dad and the text “A big hug to say…” are facing up. You may use the blunt end of a pair of scissors to further flatten your card’s crease.
Following the dotted line, cut the inside greeting “Happy Father’s Day” half of the card. Set aside.
Carefully cut out the baby animal, the tie and heart.
Following the dotted line, cut a straight line halfway across the front of the card.
On a blank piece of cardstock, cut out a rectangle that’s about 2.5” x 1” in size.
Insert the cardstock rectangle into the slit that you made on the front of the card. Secure with a piece of tape on the back inside of the card.
Secure the baby animal cut-out by gluing it on the top portion of the cardstock rectangle. This is what allows the baby animal to slide back and forth to “hug dad.”
Glue inside of the card (the one with the greeting from the third step) into the folded creation.
Position the father animal’s tie and secure by gluing it on the card, as desired.
Wherever you choose, position and glue the heart on the back folded side of the finished card.
Sign and give it to papa… with lots of love, of course!
