Every time I use my Instant Pot, I am so amazed with how nifty the little machine is. I am constantly impressed with how powerful it is, allowing me to make tons of yummy food creations.
As a family, we try to home-cook the large majority of our meals. But, guilty as charged, I was craving Chinese take-out the other day. Instead of reaching for my wallet, I decided to whip up these Instant Pot Orange Glazed Asian Beef Meatballs. You know what? No regrets, whatsoever. The result was absolutely delicious!
And the best part — it’s so easy! Since this uses frozen meatballs, I had a head-start in getting dinner on the table.
How to Make Orange Asian Beef Meatballs in Your Instant Pot
Ingredients:
- 28 oz frozen beef meatballs – I like to get mine from Target or Costco, but any kind works!
- 1 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 1/2 teaspoons grated ginger
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoons cornstarch
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar (may use honey instead)
- 1 cup water
- spring onions for topping
- sesame seeds for topping
Tools needed: Instant Pot and Instant Pot Steamer basket
Prep: 5 Minutes; Cook Time: 6 Minutes; Serves: 4
Instructions:
Pour cup of water into the Instant Pot’s inner pot and insert steamer basket.
Add meatballs, ensuring that they are well distributed around the steamer basket.
Place lid onyour Instant Pot and set to “pressure cook”, 6 minutes.
Once the time is up, all for a Quick Pressure Release.
Remove meatballs to a bowl and drain liquid from the Instant Pot. Add meatballs back to the pot.
Set Instant Pot to its sauté mode. In a small bowl or liquid measuring cup, whisk together garlic, ginger, soy sauce, orange juice, corn starch and brown sugar.
Pour the garlic and ginger mixture over the meatballs, stirring until meatballs are completely covered and sauce starts to thicken.
Once the sauce thickens, turn off the Instant Pot. Serve meatballs over jasmine rice and garnish spring onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
