Time to heat up the grill! I’ve got a new easy recipe up my sleeves, and they’re my delicious Grilled Teriyaki Steak Kebabs.
These Teriyaki Kebabs are full of flavor, all thanks to its delicious homemade teriyaki marinate. You can marinate the steaks for a minimum of 20 minutes and for up to 1 hour. Just be sure to keep the steaks marinating in the fridge in order to maintain their freshness.
I absolutely love to barbeque and grill – so this recipe is up my alley! Making skewers doesn’t have to be a daunting or intimidating task. With my easy, step-by-step recipe, you’ll be making teriyaki steak kebabs like a pro!
Ingredients for the Kebabs:
- ½ cup store bought Teriyaki sauce or you can make your own (see recipe notes below)
- 1.5lbs boneless beef top sirloin steak, cut into large chunks
- 1 large red bell pepper, cut into large chunks
- 1 large green bell pepper, cut into large chunks
- 1 large yellow bell pepper, cut into large chunks
- 1 large red onion, cut into large chunks
Yields: 4-6 skewers
Add teriyaki sauce and cubed steak to a gallon-size sandwich bag. Allow it to marinate for a minimum of 20 minutes (and a maximum of one hour) in the refrigerator.
Preheat grill to high and lightly oil its grill grates.
Thread bell peppers, onions and marinated meat onto each skewer.
Grill skewers for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until the meat is cooked to your liking.
Ingredients for Homemade Teriyaki Sauce:
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 5 tbsp packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup water
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
Directions for Homemade Teriyaki Sauce:
Add all ingredients (except for the water and cornstarch) in a saucepan. Bring ingredients to a simmer.
In a small bowl, create a slurry by mixing water and cornstarch. Mix until cornstarch is dissolved.
Once sauce is at the simmering stage, add cornstarch slurry to the saucepan and begin whisking until the sauce thickens.
Heat until thickens to desired thickness.
Let your steak sit in the freezer 20 minutes before you cube it. It’s easier to cut.
