Today, I’m excited to share with you a super easy DIY – and that’s DIY Paint! With four very simple ingredients, you can make your own paint that your kiddos will absolutely love using (because they made it themselves)!

I love the fact that I know EXACTLY what goes into my DIY Paint. So many paints out there have a strong smell, leaving me to question what kind of ingredients are used to make them. Flour, salt, water and food coloring are what go into my DIY Paint, so I know it’s extra safe for my little one to use.

Ingredients:

• 2 cups flour
• 2 cups salt
• 2 cups warm water
• Water-soluble food coloring

Directions:

Add flour and salt to a large bowl and mix well. Next, stir in the water and continue to mix until all ingredients are completely blended.

Divide the mixture into containers. Add food coloring to each container (each one should have its own color) and stir well.

Notes:

You can achieve a smoother consistency for the paint if you heat the water and stir the salt until dissolved. Next, you’ll add the flour – you’ll see how smooth it gets!

The water may turn a shade of purple when it is added to the mix but the color will change quickly to a neutral tone.
