Here is a fun and easy meal to make with the kiddos! These Easy Pizza Puffs will give you the delicious taste of a pizza pie, but without the mess and the long steps of actually preparing one!
My kids often request pizza for dinner and I don’t blame them – pizza happens to be one of my all-time favorites! And while I love making pizza, it can be a bit of a chore to make it from scratch. The dough alone needs to be kneaded, proofed and then rolled out.
Luckily, I have an easy alternative to share! This easy Pizza Puffs recipe makes for the perfect pizza pie alternative! Can you believe its base is made-up of canned biscuits (I used Pillsbury Grands – my fave!)? How easy peasy is that?!
Ingredients:
- 1 can of large buttermilk biscuits
- 1 1/4 cups pizza sauce
- 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup pepperoni, chopped
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
To chop pepperoni, I recommend cutting it into quarters.
Using a sharp knife, cut each biscuit into quarters.
In a large bowl, mix together biscuit pieces, pizza sauce, ¾ cup of the chopped pepperoni, and 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese.
Spray a baking dish with olive oil (I used a glass rectangular one), and spoon the biscuit mixture into the dish.
Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly browned, ensuring that the center is cooked.
Top off with the remaining cup of cheese and pepperoni. Bake an additional 5 minutes or until cheese has melted.
If desired, you may broil for a few minutes or until lightly browned on top. Enjoy!
