December 2018 VIP Crafters Club

Hey VIPs!! Welcome to December!

This month’s cut files can be downloaded here and our project this month has a lot of options and flexibility! That means no two people will make the same project… so many options and ideas. And as always, I know you guys will blow me away with your creativity!

The project for this month can be either a Christmas Card display board or a photo display. The size for your project is completely up to you this month! Whatever board you have lying around you can probably make it work. For my family sign, I used the back of one of my Chalk Couture box frames, and it turned out great!

The details for the crafting party and the materials needed are below. Please let me know if you have any questions at all. The Instagram Hashtag for the giveaway this month will be #vipcrafters1218 – you can post photos of anything you make from this month’s files and you will be entered in a giveaway to get an Amazon gift card!!

Thank you so much for being here! I’m so excited to get to know you all better, and I can’t WAIT to craft with you!

Materials List

If you’re like me, there’s a good chance you have a lot of these materials already lying around! I’ve outlined below what you’ll need to create this project with me. Not all of it is required, and I’ve listed which ones are optional below. Feel free to customize your project as you like – remember, this is your project! This list shows what I’ve used (or very similar items, since not everything can be found online). Looking forward to our Crafting Party!! (Note: this list contains affiliate links)

  1. Board, sanded, any size
Choose a wood board that works for you. You can get them at any hardware or craft store. Just make sure it’s nice and smooth (sand it if needed).

  2. Paint
I use Waverly Chalk Paint for most of my boards, and I also used some gold and metallic acrylic paints in some areas like the metallic blue background of my “Merry and Bright” Christmas Card display sign, and some gold accents in both signs. I prefer the chalk paint for most of my sign-making because it dries faster than acrylic. You can pick up some Waverly chalk paint at Wal-Mart, or you can also get some chalk paint online here.

  3. Oramask 813 Stencil Film
Choose your design from one of the 4 options provided and cut it using the “vinyl” setting on your cutting machine. The size is up to you and depends on the size of your board. I usually like to allow some blank space to give the design some breathing room.

  4. Staple Gun

  5. Glue Gun and Glue Sticks

  6. Craft Twine
Choose a color and size you like.

  7. Clothespins

  8. Paint sponges, brushes, makeup sponge
Get some makeup foam sponges or foam brushes on Amazon.

  9. Mod Podge
Matte finish works fine. You can get some here from Amazon
Small Winter Bush/bouquet (I got mine at Michaels for around $5 with 40% off)

  11. OPTIONAL:
Wire cutters or scissors to cut the wire of your bush foliage
