June 2019 VIP Crafters Club

Happy June VIP Crafters!

This month we are making these beautiful wreaths made out of very inexpensive materials! The hoop itself is made from an embroidery hoop (I got one for less than $2 at Michaels), and the flowers are made from cardstock. You can either make an easy rolled rose or you can grab your glue gun and make the more detailed rose (but it is a bit more challenging because you’ll be adding each petal, one-at-a-time). I also used a thick fabric ribbon and added some heat transfer vinyl with a cute “welcome” or “hello” for the greeting.

The details for the crafting party and the materials needed are below. A step-by-step video tutorial will be available soon – but for now, please work on downloading the cut files and obtaining the materials for your project.

Please let me know if you have any questions at all. I will also be updating this page throughout the month, as well as the Facebook page – and important updates will also be emailed to you.

Use the Instagram hashtag #vipcraftersclub to post photos of anything you make from this month’s files and you will be entered in a giveaway to get an Amazon gift card!!

Thank you so much for being here! I’m so excited for this month, and I can’t WAIT to craft with you!

Materials List

If you’re like me, there’s a good chance you have a lot of these materials already lying around! I’ve outlined below what you’ll need to create this project with me. Not all of it is required, and I’ve listed which ones are optional below. Feel free to customize your project as you like – remember, this is your project! This list shows what I’ve used (or the closest match that I was able to find online). Looking forward to our Crafting Party!! (Note: this list may contain affiliate links)

    1. Fabric Ribbon, Extra Wide (2.5″ wide)
Important: since we will be applying heat to this ribbon, please ensure that it is a fabric ribbon and not plastic or other material that would melt under heat. Mine said 100% Polyester.
    2. Heat Transfer Vinyl (I used white)
      For the message
    3. Embroidery Hoop (I used 9” hoops)
    4. Cardstock paper
Untextured paper is easier to work with, mine was 60 lb. – anything heavier than this will most likely be too thick. Also, try to avoid white core paper (colored paper where the center of the sheet contains white) – since the cut side of the flower is exposed, it doesn’t look great. However this can be fixed by adding some water color (I did this in the tutorial).
    5. Light grip cutting mat to use for cutting cardstock
    6. Standard grip cutting mat for heat transfer vinyl (don’t forget to mirror with heat transfer vinyl – I’ll explain this in the video!)
    7. Hot Glue Gun
    8. E6000 Industrial Strength Adhesive (Optional if adding seashells or other decorative accents)
    9. Quilling Tool or a DIY quilling tool using cotton swabs and Scissors (explained in the video tutorial)
    10. (Optional) Seashells or other decorative items to add your own personality (see my example)
    11. Weeding tool of choice
    12. Home Iron, EasyPress or Heat Press to press the heat transfer vinyl to the ribbon
    13. Silicone Pad or Easy Press Mat
    14. Teflon Sheet or Parchment Paper
    15. (Optional) add some color to the flowers using Distress Ink or Watercolor paints
  • Cricut EasyPress

    Supplies $160.00
  • Teflon Sheets (3-Pack)

    Supplies $8.39
